I suppose I was having inaugural ride jitters this morning. I felt nervous to ride my new bike for the commute.

I went to my car to drive.....and it made those awful screechy noises again.....sigh...the decision to ride or drive just got take out of my hands.
I called work to let them know I might be a few minutes late....I went back into my place and got my gear on and got the keys.....and went back to my bike. Once I got on the road I felt better.
After work, I went for a cruise to a friend's to show her my new bike. Then took a slow cruise home.

I enjoyed the ride.

Interesting though...as I was riding I kept hearing odd noises.....then I realized..my new bike is liquid cooled. I could hear the fan whirring....
I suppose after a while I won't even notice it.
Unlike my 650 V-Star that had a whiny rumble....this new bike just has a rumble.

Tomorrow I will go to the dealer to go over some things and see about lowering the windshield and getting engine guards.

I have not. And I aint gonna. Anything faster than a mid sized cruiser right now would land a hook so deep in my guts.....

/whispers I have superduke lust.

I'd be dead within a week. And then the bike would finally coast and tumble to a stop.

Workin...workin....then more workin :x

Major major network and workstation upgrades goin on here.I was actually just about to wander in the back and take some pics of some of the new stuff.

That is a great picture.

I test rode a 1000cc V-Strom during demo days. I scared myself.   I am so used to a cruiser throttle.....the V-Strom throttle was so light and twitchy it accelerated more than I expected....I sure came out of my turn fast....scared me....

I thought the bike handled well.....but the leg position is wrong for me.

I washed the Kawasaki today. It was dusty...and had a bug slpat on the windshield.

It's very dusty where I work....so I'm going to start covering it when my new cover arrives.

I have put about 300km on it. It sure has more presence on the road than my Yamaha did. Aside from it being a bit bigger and with saddle bags attached....it is louder. It's not loud like bikes with Screamin' Eagles for example....but it rumbles instead of rumbles.

I understand exactly what you mean. I actually washed buelah the other day. First time in a couple of years  The only shiny spots were the clutch cover and whatever lives on the other side.

I'm not entirely sure it's happy about being washed. My tires are squared off I believe. Right turns have this automagical line readjustment and lean angle adjustment that is Quite ... nerve wracking. I believe I'm just on the edge where I go from flat back to round tire. Lefts aren't quite so bad. Even with the wobblies and my "O Ring" trying to latch on to the seat I managed to touch down the pegs. Not horribly difficult around here. The roads here look like something a frightened snake would curl into.

Roscowgo.....it means you're not riding it enough.

I just got the first service done on my Kawasaki. I put on over 600 miles in 2 weeks.

I still haven't figured the gas mileage. I'm monitoring to see....

I went for a ride with my friend who still has a learner's permit. She was the one I took through her paces from noob to passing her skills test.
so...tonight we went for a refresher ride. While we were out...we parked at the side of the road to chat...her bike would not start again. Dang! We were nowhere near any help. We were riding around an industiral area.

So-o-o-o....I told her we would try to push start it.....She has a Honda CBR125...so it's light weight. I explained what we needed to do. She sat on the bike and I pushed the bike to get some momentum....
I should mention....there are no hills on this industrial site....It took a few tries to get her to grasp how push starting works....
I was pushing her....but nothing was happening....all that effort...she still had the clutch lever in.

I explained it again and then she understood....This time when I started pushing her and told her to try...the bike started....
Yippee!!!!!!!! :D

She rode up the block and back and I told her to keep it running....I got my helmet back on and started up my bike and we went for a ride hoping that her bike would charge a bit. We went for a pit stop and thankfully the bike started again.

She wants to go for her road test soon. We'll go for an evaluation ride before that to make sure she is really ready.

Yeah only about 1200 this year :( It's all to-from work stuff.

I did take a week off, and all I could manage to do was peek outside through the windows before falling down for another nap.

Jeeze, that was just memorial day. Feels like 24 months ago.
