That was really cool! That so awesome to watch racers slide out the back tire (or even both tires) around a high speed turn like its no big deal, very cool.

I'd still rather rock the Gallardo. But being able to own that I could afford the 999 as well... I'll take both, please!

Very cool video! I have a friend with an R1 who makes the simple arguement that he can afford the same awesome power of a sports car for a fraction of the cost with an R1, while he drived a 1988 or so Toyota Camry with almost 300,000 miles around town. So for the...$12,000 or so he paid for both the bike and car, compared to someone buying one of those Lamborghini's at $120,000 or so...I know what I'd be going for!

Those numbers at the beginning seem a bit off on the Ducati. Since when does a stock base 999 product 180 bhp and do over 190 mph? That's more hp and max speed any any of the I4 literbikes I know of.
Also, there are alot of other variables involved. How about rider skill vs. driver skill? I suppose if they put Mario Andretti in the car and Valentino Rossi on the bike I might buy into it a little more, but I have no idea who these guys are. Might as well be me vs. one of my friends.
Don't get me wrong, it is a really cool idea and a neat video, but I wouldn't say that the bike is faster or slower based soley off this video. It is still alot of fun to watch though.
And I'm still not quite sure why this is in the "Motorcycle Product Reviews & Opinions" forum...

Me either, but Ozzy is a moderator, so I won't step on his toes. It could be moved to Total Talk though - just a thought.
These are two items of desire that I will never own. When I read a review about these fancy cars and fancy bikes they always have a ton of flaws that they consider "character". Even the sub-exoctics suffer from this problem. And luxury class cars like the BMW and Mercedes have the highest rate of complaints of almost any cars built. All of this makes no sense to me. If character is a fancy word for full of flaws I'll take the charcterless Japanese cars and bikes. Sheesh.

Aah, but you're forgetting Kia!
I agree with you about the luxury aspect of these vehicles. Of course, these vehicles are mostly a status symbol nowadays. Similar to the "trophy wife" there's the "trophy car." The idea of "I can afford this, now where's yours?" On the rare occasion that I actually see an exotic car I don't think I've ever seen one speeding simply because they don't want to A) damage their baby or B) get a huge ticket. They just want to drive around at or slightly below the speed limit and "cruise." Very rarely are you going to see someone who owns one of these $120,000 Ferrari's or something similar out on the racetrack or speeding along the streets...it'd be stupid to risk damaging them
