I was cleaning the rear tire rim with WD-40 to break up the grease, but I ended up getting some on the tire treads. The tire wasnt drowning in WD-40 or anything, but Im still a little concerned because I dont want any nasty suprises when I lean the bike over. I wiped it off with a rag of course. Am I safe?

Not sure, but I'd use soap and water from now on.... and take some of the same to whatever got hit with the WD40.

I've used WD40 to clean chain lube off the rear tire for years, never had a problem. I spray it on the tire and wipe it off while it's still wet. Doubt if there is much of anything left behind.
However, it doesn't get done too often. I'm a firm believer that if it's nice enough out to clean the bike then it is nice enough to go ride it instead.

Now that's an attitude I like
