It seems to me that they should only use this bike as opposed to wannabe cruisers like the Rebel and the Nighthawk.
Ninja 250s are as neutral a bike as you can get, so it'd be most likely to teach the widest set of skills.
Am I right?

no ninja 250s, the plastics will just probably be damaged by the students.

Hey Vermilion, did you know that I'm known as VermilionXenon on another messageboard?
That tripped me out when I saw your name on here.

Nighthawks, Rebels, etc are easier to operate than the ninjas. No need to wind them up, they're not as "extreme" in their steering geometry, and like was stated, no plastics to break. MSF IS for learning, but it's also about inspiring confidence, and that's what those bikes do exceptionally well.

the ninja 250 has fairings, they dont want that on MSF bikes which get dropped hundreds of times in their life.
Nighthawk 250 or buell blast is about as close as you get to neutral for a newbie bike, both are used for MSF courses. They try to offer a variety of bikes and most MSF facilities have cruisers, standards and dual sports.

I ended up on a DR125 during my MSF, in hindsight im glad I got that instead of a GZ250, my preference would have been the rebel (it was the least thrashed of the bikes they had) but a lady jumped on that one before me.

In the video on the MSF Website they show people on Ninja 250's. My class didn't have them because the lady in charge didn't think they would be a good bike to learn on. We had Rebels, Viragos, Nighthawks, some OLD honda with a full length seat and military trainer lights, and a Hyosung GV250<--
