Any word on a new VFR?

Isn't its current design 4 years old?
That's ancient in sportbike years.
When do you think we'll see some update here?

its a sport tourer. they dont get redone every 3 years like a super sport

Even so, it's very much sportbike derived as opposed to, say, a Gold Wing.

Incidentally, I think it's odd that no other company has really tried to do what the VFR does.
I think Yamaha could make a lot of money by making something between the FZ-6 and FZ-1 (FZ-8) and throwing on a full-fairing.

They make lowers for both the FZ6 and FZ1, both are already considered good bikes for solo touring, especially with the taller windscreen thats available.
I have sat on an FZ6 and it really is a very comfortable bike

personally, i find the VFR gets uglier every time they "redesign" it. They should stop trying to make it appeal to the sporty crowd and realize the thing is more like a Honda Acura.
I'd like them more if they went backwards to the ultra-conservative design of the '96 derived from the NR750:

oh. and forget the red and yellow. Try silver, blue, black, white. Even the refrigerator is better looking than the "rakish" pipes-out-the-tail wanna-be sporty VFR8 of present. (ugh).

I agree that the '94-97 VFR was by far the most apealling.
The Triumph Sprint ST is a pretty close match to the VFR and has ALOT more power. There are other competitors out there...

Honda needs to yank the V-Tech (just had a brain-fart...is that what they call it?). The transistion between two valves and four valves is awful!! Plus, who wants to spend between 8 - 10 hours for a valve adjustment?? I don't even want to get paid to do it!!

I agree, the 94 especially is the best one... I'm not biased or anything
They need to go back to the 94 cosmetics, and ditch V-Tec, but keep it fuel injected... and drop the price!

I prefer the '99 model, but yeah, I'm biased. Fuel injection, gear-driven cams and no v-tech.
