my super-gorgeous friend went down......

Last Friday, 24 March 2006, a really good friend of mine, Jessica, went down on her new 2006 Suzuki Boulevard S40 at about 11:00pm in Irvine. She was sideswiped by a drunk driver who jumped over the median of a divided road, making a lefthand turn.
I'm happy to say that Jessica is alive and well with the exception of a broken left foot. She's expected to make a full recovery.
Unfortunately, her loyal steed did not fair so well and is apparently totalled. It has a broken left foot peg, a dented tank, stratches from the impact and getting dragged by the car, it's leaking oil and it won't start.
The driver of the car was a woman in a new white Volkswagen Beetle. Not only was she drunk, she was a hit-and-run.
Thankfully, someone chased her down and the cops caught the woman and arrested her. My friend Jessica also has tons of witnesses, which is awesome. So, the woman responsible is pretty much fried. Woohoo!
I'm happy to say that Jessica has every intent of replacing her bike and continuing to ride. She's a new rider. Didn't even reach 1000 miles on her new bike yet. But, broken foot and totalled bike, she's forging ahead. Jessica is the kind of girl that I liked from the moment I met her, but I like her even more now.
Welcome to the club, sweetheart. Wear your battle scars with pride.
Just wanted to ask you folks to help me send her some love for a speedy recovery. See you on the road soon, darlin' ...
