my super-gorgeous friend went down......

#1 Unread post by Dragonhawk »

Last Friday, 24 March 2006, a really good friend of mine, Jessica, went down on her new 2006 Suzuki Boulevard S40 at about 11:00pm in Irvine. She was sideswiped by a drunk driver who jumped over the median of a divided road, making a lefthand turn.

I'm happy to say that Jessica is alive and well with the exception of a broken left foot. She's expected to make a full recovery.

Unfortunately, her loyal steed did not fair so well and is apparently totalled. It has a broken left foot peg, a dented tank, stratches from the impact and getting dragged by the car, it's leaking oil and it won't start.

The driver of the car was a woman in a new white Volkswagen Beetle. Not only was she drunk, she was a hit-and-run. Thankfully, someone chased her down and the cops caught the woman and arrested her. My friend Jessica also has tons of witnesses, which is awesome. So, the woman responsible is pretty much fried. Woohoo!

I'm happy to say that Jessica has every intent of replacing her bike and continuing to ride. She's a new rider. Didn't even reach 1000 miles on her new bike yet. But, broken foot and totalled bike, she's forging ahead. Jessica is the kind of girl that I liked from the moment I met her, but I like her even more now.

Welcome to the club, sweetheart. Wear your battle scars with pride. 8)

Just wanted to ask you folks to help me send her some love for a speedy recovery. See you on the road soon, darlin' ...

Tell her to get well soon.

I hope the person who hit her goes to prison for awhile

She's got the whole forum behind her wishing her a speedy recovery and lots of sweet "O Ring" miles down the road.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Also being a new rider, and having been side-swiped only a couple days ago in LA by a punk "O Ring" teen (with less than 200 miles on my '05 SV) let me just say that I feel for her! While I walked away with little more than a scratch, I'm glad to hear that her injuries will completely recover. Get her to sign up for the forum, it'd be a great way to pass the time while that foot heals! Oh, and buy her "Tourist Trophy" coming out for PS2 on Tuesday...hopefully that'll help myself get past this week while my bike is in the shop!

That's a horrible experiance, but I'm glad to hear she's okay and plans to continue riding. Hopefully, that drunk driver will face some serious jail time.
