I bought a Yamaha, and nowhere does it say on the title what size it is
Naturally, the covers that had any information was gone to. Could you help me?
Okay.....

My Vin on the title is JYA5K5008CA030273

This was the title I was given, and it matches the frame on the forks.
A guy at a cycle shop said it was a XJ 500, but I want to be sure....

On the engine is has a box with 5K5 - 03273
It says on one of the covers Yamaha YICS
In the middle of the back tire frame it says 4 U 8
It is a six speed 1 down - 5 up
On the right side of the engine in a circle, it says 2200cm3
Inbetween the exhast is stamped 528cm3

Thank You,
hipppy :(

I thought the XJ 500 was 492 ccs... and the XJ 600 is 598ccs, so I am assuming that it is a XJ 550.
It might be the motor out of something else?

The 2200cm3 is how much oil it holds.

VIN info says 1982 Yamaha but no model info.

Have fun on that bike! It is a good one. I love those air-cooled I-4's. You have one more gear than my KZ650, I'm jealous..haha.
