Tourist Trophy has arrived!!!

#1 Unread post by Bx RedBull »

Anyone pick up Tourist Trophy yet? If so, or when you do, let's hear what everyone thinks. I've got friends telling me they're torn between playing the game and really riding. I'll have to see about that one... :motorcycle:

I'm seriously debating riding over to EB after work and picking up a copy. Then again, I could just go riding...
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

i'll just wait for TT2.

TT only allows max 4 bikes/race. that's very bad. they spent so much time making the bike graphics look very good but sacrificed # of bikes/race.

the game is already out in JP for quite a while now. i was gonna import it since i do import games from JP but when i heard about that, i decided not to buy it.

i seriously doubt it'll change when the NA release comes out.

I just picked this up froma review while waiting
While TT does look good, some sacrifices were made to do so. In GT, there are at most six cars in one race; in TT the most you’ll ever see on one track is four. I’m willing to forgive the developers a bit since this needed to be done because animating the riders taxes the PS2 more, but it’s still a bit of a disappointment.

What irks me the most about this game is that there isn’t much to do, which is the complete opposite of the trend in most car racing titles. Outside of the license tests, challenge mode, and the race events, there’s nothing else to do in Tourist Trophy mode. There’s a challenge for just about every machine, but after that, what else? You have every bike. The license tests aren’t exactly mandatory, but you’ll need to do them anyway because earning those is what unlocks the better bikes in challenge mode. You’ll also want to do them because you need to learn how to ride one of these things. And finally, there aren’t that many race events to participate in. An online mode would’ve helped immensely, but seeing that GT has yet to see an online component, why should we have expected one here.
I might hold off as well.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Disheartening news Verm. But thanks for the heads up. May have to run to BlockBuster and take a test ride on this one first.

that goes back to my previous statement about the PS2 being weak, and everyone giving me crap about it.
