Just got out of my second day of the MSF. Never ridden before and so far it's a blast. Started out a little shakey of course but it smoothed out. The hardest is the super slow speed turns and the zig zag through the wide spread cones. Tomorrow is the test! Help me reduce a little stress and tell me what to expect on the riding test. I'm not worried about the written.
Actually - the 2nd day is the most fun and all the drills you do.... are what is on the test.
So you are practicing the same skills that you will be tested on
Like I heard, and believe - passing the course is something to be proud of, but it's just the first step at getting *proficient*
Drill those exercises over and over after the class is over in a safe place and get some good books on riding strategy/techniques - they make alot more sense after you start riding

I firmly believe in the practice concept. I am lucky enough to have access to a large parking lot that I can get to by secondary back roads. I also live in a subdivision with a lot of streets and intersections which will allow me to practice before venturing out into traffic. I think I did pretty well for never being on a bike, I just need to remain calm. As I said, there are a lot of riders with experience in the class that seem to be blowing through exercises that I make mistakes on. I just want to pass so I can get my M class and be on my way. One thing that did not help me at all was the bike I was on. It was a kick start and I had trouble keeping it running all day. It would die just at idle. The instructor even had trouble keeping it running several times. I would have liked to be put on another but that's all they had and I guess I'm lucky to just get a spot in the class.
