Need help...want to do this one right

I posted this on the "safety, security and rider tips" forum also...thought I'd drop it here, too.
This Saturday I plan on picking up a 1993 Nighthawk 750 that will require a 2 hour, mostly interstate, ride home.
I have a truck and trailer lined up for transport.
Any tips or tricks for safe and secure trailer transport of a bike?
I plan on compressing the suspension a bit and chocking the front tire, also. Is 4 tie-down points enough?
I've never done this before and want to take all precautions.
This is my first bike and the first time I have ever secured one to a trailer; I would die if I damaged it during transport.
Any tips or suggestions would REALLY be appreciated. Thanks.
