I found a 2000 yzf-r6 for sale, but the dealer said it had a custom paint job on it, some changing color paint. If I end up getting this bike how much would it cost me to get it repainted, nothing special just like blue or black. Thanks.

"Custom paint" often means the bike has been crashed.

Maybe from a dealer, but in general, I disagree. Many riders love the idea of modifying their ride to their own character, personality, interest, etc. After all the accessories, custom paint jobs are the added difference which separates us from the rest.

The dealer said that it’s some sparkling purple and then in the light it changes to green. It's my first bike and I really don’t want to be riding a purple Yamaha. So thats why I was wondering about how much it would cost to get it repainted

A lot. Take it from someone who has had parts painted before. Besides, that color-change paint is hella expensive. Someone dropped some serious coin to get that sprayed, likely after a crash. If you don't like the color, keep shopping.

We are talking about an R6 here.

I'm just going to be the first one here to ask: Is this you're first bike? The R6 is not a good beginner bike.

It's called Harlequin Paint and it runs $300 USD a pint .
Only an idiot would paint over that .
That of course is merely my opinion .
However , I am unanimous in that .................
