Housing warped? Washer in the wrong place?

It never leaked until I changed it tonight. The washer is in the right place.

Over-torqued and cracked or warped it?
Not clean enough and a hunka krud is messing with you?

You only need to torque the oil filter housing bolt to 11 lb-ft. That's almost nothing. And it's very sensitive to overtightening so hope you didn't overtighten.
(If you don't have a torque wrench, this is why you need one!)
I had a problem w/ my Seca - the last owner tried to PRY OFF the filter cover with a screwdriver or something - so there was a big gash in the mating surface on the Case... Make sure the mating surface on your bike is clean and smooth
Clean the whole job and then see where the oil is coming from - look for problems in that area.

Thanks everyone. I found the problem and it was a nick out of the outer lip on the case housing. Torque wrench will be used on the new one !
