clutchless shifting?

i know it's in the throttle where if you time it right, it will release the gear box for quick moment and it will let you shift w/o applying the clutch.
i need more details since i forgot some details that my mechanic told me.

back off throttle, slam shifter in desired direction.

oh wait, so once i back off the throttle, how much time do i have? 1 sec? < 1 sec?

You only need to blip it just enough to take the load off the gears while you power shift it. Both actions will take place in a fraction of a second.

that's it! that sounded like what my mechanic told me.
blip is when you off-on the throttle quickly, right?

Well, the key here is doing it right. If you mess up while trying to get it right, you'll inevitably cause damage.
