Hey all..... Probably in the process of getting a new bike. I saw probably because my current bike honda vfr might be written off as a friggin' bus hit me 2 weeks ago (stupid bus) anyways, I want to stick with a sports bike and I have been looking around... but i can't really decide what to get, I want to stick with maybe a 600cc sport bike.

Any suggestions on what I should get? what brand?
I want a bike that's comfortable, a smooth ride, not shakey (heard some sport bikes are rattlers) and probably buying brand new or almost brand new. so if you guy out there can give me some suggestions, much appreciated.

Hi GQ, This is just a suggestion....But the FZX 750 is a good allrounder. Its good for touring, good for speed. It is the baby VMax. Our derestricted one we've 135mph with more to spare. Take a look at my gallery got pics of our bike. let me know what you think.

Im more looking at a pure sports bike, crotch rocket (fits my persona better )...... but it is a nice bike though

"persona" and riding abilitys are very different things. thinking you need the fastest bike possible with the intent to use that power will only get you in trouble no question.

think about the people that make their living off riding bikes, they cant handle the power and wreck often on them, what makes you think a casual rider with limited experience stands a chance on a race ready bike.

but go for it i guess. get an r6 i love those bikes.

I wasn't even talking about getting the fastest bike out there, if I was i'd get a hayabusa. I was talking about looks... a sexy, sleek, looking bike (just like me hahha ) I look way better on a sports bike then a cruiser or harley. and I mean when it does come down to it..... it's all about the look, isn't it??

ya but when you get down to it an r6 lets say isnt that 'powerfull' but in the hands of someone unexperienced, is equally as troublesome as a busa, someone else posted some stats on 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. the busa isnt that much faster than an r6. and thats the mistake people make, thinking a 600 isnt over powering.

if all you care about is looks then a 250 ninja looks very close to the 500r ninja...

ZX-6R '02 or earlier. One of the more comfy ones and very powerful as well......

Comfort is pretty subjective - especially for a sportsbike. I like the way the new Kawasakis look ... but I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone of the male sex can ride one in any kind of comfort. Other guys swear they are the best bikes going...

You need to get out and do some shopping. Head on into the dealership and try a few on for size.

If you want to go for looks (and if you want to get alot) go with an italian bike, like a Ducati 749 or an MV Agusta F4.

Hey, I just took delivery of my R1 yesterday.



It has the looks of the italian bikes, without the leaking oil.

I have been researching this decision over several months - I posted to this forum about it before the hackers got in - and have made several hundred mile trips to dealers of triumph, bmw, buell, etc.

While the throttle has to be respected, I am finding it to be infinitely more civilized than I ever imagined. With a steady hand, jaunts in heavy traffic are not a chore, at least so far. This is also the most comfortable sport bike I have tried - although to be fair I did not sit on the 2005 Suzuki - I will be using it as my commuter bike to and from work.

btw, this morning I did stall it at a traffic light and lay the thing down - but that is exactly what I did with the bike I bought last year the first week I rode it, so I can't blame the bike.
