Yup. I've seen him with it at the Rock Store. He said he's gotten it up to about 150 too. He said it'll go way faster, but he didn't want to do anymore than that because it was scary. I'm sure he did it at a closed private track under safe conditions. Right, Jay? (ahem)
It only has 2 gears too. He never shifts into second until doing at least 70 or 80MPH he said. Amazing.
Here is Jay with the bike. You can see me with my very impressed/shocked/amazed "DOH!" look in the background:

Discovery Channel to air MTT Turbine Superbike Race a Jet
The MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE - otherwise known as the “Y2K” Jet Bike - raced an L-39 Aerovodochovy single-engine land jet at the Acadiana Regional Airport in New Iberia, LA on Jan. 21st. The race was organized for a short documentary filmed by CineFlix for Discovery International. The jet pilot was Mr. Darryl Christen of Houma, and James Kane of the local stunt-riding team Voodoo Racing rode the motorcycle.
The results of the initial races were outstanding. From the start line, with the jet and the bike spooling up their engines and starting at the same time, the bike repeatedly won the race by such a large margin that the jet was not in the final frame at the finish line. In order to have both the bike and the jet in the same frame for cinematography purposes, the jet was allowed a running start of 150 knots, which translates to approximately 175 MPH. They made several runs, all of which the bike still won.
