1986 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 leaks gas from a hose

Need help with my bike.

Couple of months ago I had a fall and now everytime I try to start the bike it leaks a lot of gas. It's like opening a faucet.

I know something is out of place but I don't know what could be. Have the manual but the pictures are very fussy. Can't take the engine out; don't have the proper equipment; and can't take it to a regular dealer because it's older than 10 years and they won't take it.

Please help. Any information will be very valuable.

Thanks.

What three positions are on your Petcock? (Pri, on and res?)

And where exactly is it leaking from?

I'm so sorry. I'm not from this country and I'm still confusing some words. I meant "leak".

Tomorrow I'm taking it to a Yamaha Dealer to see if they can do anything with it.

Do you have any information that I could use? I have the oficial Yamaha Maxim maintenance manual but the pictures are very fussy and I can't tell what's what...

I have Pri, Res and Full.

I don't know exactly where the leak is coming from but I know that when ever the petcock its pointing Pri or Res, gas comes out of a "release hose". I don't know if this house is conected to the carburator; and I don't know if what I need to so is something I can do myself or if it is something that I'm doing wrong right now.

Any idea why this could be happening and how to fix it?

Thanks.
