Well, I finally got the final piece of the puzzle and bought my bike. Took the MSF, got my helmet, gloves, and jacket, and got my M1 license. One of my buddies just bought the 06 R1 and sold me his 2003 Yamaha R6 for 5g's. He has a few cosmetics done the 6 as well as a Yoshi muffler. I have been ridin for a few weeks and its awesome! I haven't really taken it on the freeway yet and have avoided busy roads mainly because southern california drivers have no courtesy for cars, let alone motorcycles. i have cruised a few time with my buddy and even gotten quite a few waves from fellow riders. Just wanted to let you in on my new baby! drive safe.

That pic of the surfer isn't real is it? That wave ( if it's real) is like 70 feet high. Oh, and congrats on the bike, but make sure you take it easy.

That pic is entirely real. Go rent "Riding Giants." It's a documentary of big wave riding. They get towed into waves as high as 65 feet behind jet skis. It's pretty cool to watch. Do a Google image search of "Mavericks" or "Cortes Bank" and you'll get plenty of guys surfing giant waves.

Oh the humanity!

Yeah, an R6 is a beast of a bike to learn on...I'd have gone for something with alot less power (as 99% of the people on this forum will tell you, except for Verm and the new guy with the CBR). Good luck though. Take an MSF course and get GOOD gear! Having a nice bike doesn't help save your hide!
