Just thought I'd link up a cool article on a build a guy in my local riding group did/is doing. I saw the bike in person the other night and the pics really do it no justice.

I love bikes that dont look like everything else on the street. Plus old bikes are for the most part so easy to work on.

i would if it wasnt so incredibly ugly. That thing looks like someone threw some scrap aluminum down the stairs and thats the pile it landed in..

each time i post a pic of it, im slowly getting attracted to it... i dunno why.

The old 90's version of that bike was much more attractive...

Way cool. It's interesting to see he started with a chopper TR6. For some reason, I've had a gut-level aversion to Triumph choppers, don't know why. Somehow doesn't suit the "vertical twin spirit", whatever the heck that is. This cafe racer redeems those old TR6 bits and pieces.

If I ever trade in my Bonneville, it will only be for a Thruxton (or maybe the new Norton 961 Commando?

). I've got a soft spot for Brit cafe-racer style bikes. I think M bars are in my Bonnie's future, if I can get past the comfort issues.
