Suzuki Marauder Temp Problems

#1 Unread post by Sev »

Okay, so my friend recently pulled his marauder out of the garage and has put about 100km on it. Today when we changed the oil we realized that the temp sensor (that turns on the cooling fan for the rad) had broken off sometime over the winter.

Now we're wondering just how much damage this could have done.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Very little as long as he didn't get it too hot. And he probably didn't get it too hot unless he sat in traffic for a long time on a hot day. And I know that didn't happen yet.

Get a new sensor and change it out, and he should be good-4-go.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

+1

He only went 62 miles. Unless Canada is experiencing both a heat wave and a rash of traffic jams, I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over it.

Since you didn't post anything about the big mess made by the coolant boiling over, it's pretty safe to assume that the fan wasn't needed and the bike stayed within it's normal temperature range.

Many thanks guys, I'll forward this to him, and put his mind at ease.

I figured there wouldn't really be taht big an issue, but it's nice to have it confirmed.
