Ok, a few questions, which have basically nothing to do with eachother.
First, for anyone with a buell firebolt, what is that pulley looking thing near the back for?
Second, what is the purpose of joining one of the various manufacturer groups on this board, like the Honda group, Kawasaki, etc.?
Third, how do you find people in your area to ride with (none of my friends ride)?

Thanks guys, that link is really good mintbread. And verm, I have no idea where any local place is that bikers hang out, the only place I've ever seen a group of riders was like 5 at the gas station, and I wasn't on a bike then.

Ugh. Everything in my area is either older cruiser riders, or young black sportbike riders (as in the entire group is black, and doesn't seem to want white members). I ride a standard, and don't really feel welcome in either group. Anyway, I'll keep looking, hopefully I'll find someone, or maybe I'll just meet someone who rides, and see who they ride with.

Haha, no, I haven't even ridden at all yet, except around my neighborhood. I won't be getting my license for another couple weeks, if I'm lucky. I'm just thinking ahead to when I do, I don't want to have to ride around by myself for recreation. Plus, I don't know where the good twisties are.

No one you know rides? I found out that some friends I have ride motorcycles, and I didn't even know it! Or, you can just talk friends into taking up motorcycling too (I've done that as well).
Now I have a nice biker gang to tool around with on free weekends.
