Hello, n00b on board.
Hey guys, awsome forums you guys have here very good newbie information, I almost made the 600cc mistake! After some extensive newbie reading I think Im settled on the 500 ninja, not wild about the color choices, but thats ok with me. Just looking for good riding gear, my friends have some pretty nice jackets that have some sort of plastic in the elbows, shoulders, back, and front, seems very solid and just wondering for something similiar but with nice styling.

Hey, chief. Welcome in.
I just two days ago picked up my jacket at the local cycle shop. It is an Icon Tarmac textile/mesh jacket. Very airy for riding, air passes straight through it. I picked the "Stealth" version, which is all black. Which is bad for the FL heat in which I will be riding, but much closer to my style than all the patches and whatnot I saw on the other jackets.
I just got into cycling, and have 500cc '81 Honda. I am loving it, and it is PLENTY of power for me at 6'0 and 245 lbs (something of a Fatman myself...).
Enjoy.

Of course it is.
Anyway, welcome to the boards, good luck finding a nice jacket. I personally just use a simple leather motorcycle jacket that I found on sale for $130.

Welcome Fatman! I got my jacket at www.newenough.com . They have decent prices and lots of closeout deals.
