Question about waterproof riding pants with boots...

Well, the other day I lost one of my gloves. So I went to the store and got a better pair (full leather, with good breathability and comfort and whatnot). While I was there they were having some crazy sale as well. So I bought the pants that go along with my jacket (Cortech HRX).

My question concerns fitting them over/in my boots. Which is it? The end is a little small to fit around the boot, but it seems that if I were to put them in the boot, that would defeat the whole waterproof-ness of the whole setup....

So which is it? :?

if you wanna ride in the rain just ride with your throttle hand and hold an umbrella in the other. but seriously, all the pants i have seen should go over the boots.

Over the boots, water will find you even still. If you put them IN the boots, you look like a geek and water will find you sooner.

Can you just cut a slit in the bottom of the legs of your pants, so it will fit over the boot?

Kal, you beat me to it. I was also going to suggest gaitors. I use them for riding, snowshoeing and hiking. Any outdoor store will have them.

Ive got a pair of stretchy heavy vynel (sp?) pants, rubberized inside) and they have a good amount of stretch in the ankle too go oevr the boot, if yours dont, I'd go with what Cam said, but be sure the cut gets reinforced so it doesnt spread afterwards.

They zip down to the bottom...so I guess I can just be content with not zipping them down all the way.
