Just need a little advice . I am looking at a 1984 Nighthawk 750S and was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on what to keep an eye out for. It has approximately 68k on it and appears to be in very good shape . The price is $2500 Can.:cowboy:

Had an '84 700SC (thanks, Harley!). Seemed pretty bullet-proof. Mine had a minor oil leak via the shift-shaft seal but, other than that, just regular maintenance.

I just bought an '84 750S in November. It had about 40k on it and i paid $2000; of course I had to turn around and put on new rubber right away though.
So far I love this bike! It doesn't do anything particularly well or spectacularly bad, its just a well rounded ride that's a lot of fun.
They used to call it the maintenance free motorcycle, and so far I haven't had any problems with it at all, although I'm beginning to suspect the clutch a bit so will be taking it in soon to get it looked at.

deal done

Congratulations haystack, many safe and happy trails to you. If you have a third as much fun on yours as I'm having with mine, you'll be well pleased with your 'new' bike.

BTW, I have no idea what your riding experience is, but I can't recommend the MSF course highly enough, even for an experienced rider.

yeah, i quite liked the Nighthawk S styling. Seems like it'd be a great standard bike. The subtle body sculpting of tail, bikini fairing and fuel tank shape combined with the lines of the paint scheme really *make* the look. I'm partial to the blue ones, but the red looks good, even with soft bags, etc.
