okay, can someone explain to me all the siding stuff? lowsiding, highsiding, side siding?

i've always been confused about them.

P.S. really off topic but am i supposed to pour water anywhere into the ex500? .....i.e. in a car, you have to pour water into the carborator....is it the same for the ex?

Think about taking a tight corner... you lean over to the side...

If your tires lose traction and the you fall off of the side closer to the ground, its a lowside.

If your front tire gets going at a different angle or moves at a significantly different speed from the rear and you get catapaulted over the side of the bike further from the ground, its a highside. As you may imagine, these will be a little more painful.

Uhm....I wouldn't put water in the carb at all....Wouldn't that, like, ruin stuff?

Pour water into the carb? Ummm how much? Are we talking a 2L car needs two liters of water or what? Do you need to turn the engine over by hand as you add water?


Anyway, I think the answer is no. Motorcycles have built-in rain collectors to keep the electrical and fuel systems properly hydrated.

P.S. Low side is when you tip the bike over at speed and fall off behind letting the bike slide ahead of you. High side is when you fall off ahead and let the bike follow behind. Both are generally undesirable, though low siding is considered slightly less impressive if you are making videos.

did you see the way the back wheel lost traction, regained it and launched him off the bike? that is a high side.

Water (even a drop) = bad for fuel systems

You don't want any water at all getting into your fuel system at all. So like, if some water gets poored into your gas tank for some reason, you have to empty your gas tank, so the water doesn't get in the fuel system. I can't exactly remember why, but it has something to do with damage to the system.
