I am interested in Purchasing my first bike!
I have read alot on this site & it has been very helpful.
My question is...
I am 5'10" & weigh 230lbs
When looking at alot of the beginner bikes
will my weight have a huge affect on performance?

It will make a tiny bit of difference, but not much. I would just go with one of the 400-500cc beginner bikes.

I'm gonna say it, just cause I love it.... SV650S go sit on it and see if you like it. Either way before you buy a bike sit on it and see if its comfortable. Also get in the riding position (have someone hold the bike up for you or one leg it)

honestly I doubt he can fit in a car or on a bike, a scooter MAY be his only option for going more than 5 feet.....

not to be mean but how does the suspension on the scooter hold up.. I mean you think the tire or something would break

steel is a very strong material, and I doubt that scooter is expensive enough to use lightweight aluminum (Al is cheeper too though, odd, eh?) and he probably doesnt weigh much more than the allowable carrying weight, and that weight is given by the manufacturer, so you know it can handle double that and they are being conservative to cover their butts, though in this case they REALLY didn't "cover" his....
