What bike meets these standards?

I like my little ninja but I want to upgrade. I am looking for something with the following specs:
Fuel Injected
Standard seating (I don't like having my feet in front of me or being crouched over the tank)
At LEAST 50mpg
The ability to ride on it for at least an hour at a time
Priced under 6 grand
I don't want to wheely if I twitch my wrist accidentally
Some sort of storage like saddlebags would be nice but don't like forward controls like on most cruisers
Also I'm only 5'6" 170lbs and have a 30" inseam.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Are you wanting to buy new, or considering used as well? I'd think the EFI requirement will take a lot of bikes out of the equation.
SV650 mabye(non - faired version, doesn't it have a little more upright seating postion than the S model?)?

Why does it need to be fuel injected?

Instant starts without having to mess with a choke, able to mod the exhaust and intake without rejetting, not worring about being lean in the winter and rich in the summer. Also if I'm getting a new bike I want a more technologically advanced one.
I'm eyeballing the Ninja 650 but it's new for this year and I'm leary of a new production. I figure you should let them have some time to work out the kinks.

I'd say the ninja 650R... not under 6 grand, but it is a very very nice bike. It meets all the criteria except the price. You can get a decent tail bag for it too, for storage.

Suzuki SV 650 $5949
Kawasaki Ninja 650R $6299
Suzuki Vstrom 650 $6699
Honda 599 $7399
Moto Guzzi Breva 750 $8490
Moto Guzzi Nevada Classic IE $8990
Possibly some dualsport bikes? Hope any of this is helpful. Probably your best bet would be to visit some dealerships and sit on a few bikes then start looking for used if you're dead set on buying for under $6K.
Good Luck!

SV650 is the only bike that meets all your desires. if your willing to spend around 6700 the FZ6 also meets the same specs and has some wind protection as well.
as for the saddle bag thing. just get a set of soft panniers for it.

you should be more than able to get a used SV650S for that much, I paid less than $6k for mine brand new, though I had "special" circumstances (retired Army dealer saying thanks to an active duty soldier in Iraq). I'll take what I can get though
