another "is this a good deal" question

Found this ad on our local trade web site.. what do ya think?

1978 Yamaha XS1100 with fairing and saddle bags. Approximately 78,000 kms. Never been rebuilt. Needs carburetors syncronized, new rubber, minor cosmetics. $500

$500 CDN? I'd buy it... but then again I have a '79 XS1100SF so maybe I'm biased. :)

78K kms is nothing to these bikes... mine has 75K miles....

Biggest weakness I know of is the transmission... the shift forks (inside the transmission) break and are a PITA to replace...you've got to disassemble the lower part of the engine and the transmission is a chinese puzzle. I got mine cheap because of that... it took me a couple weeks (off and on) to find replacement parts and make the repair.

From what I'm hearing how much Bikes cost in your "neck of the woods" I'd grab it.
