The number one item vehicle owners neglect...Tire Pressure. Check your psi regularly. They can be found on the swingarm tag or on the steering head tag. You will be amazed at the handling, mpg, and tire life you will gain. I have gotten to the point were I can notice a 3 psi difference (on most models anyway). Thanks.

How many checked and found them to be low??

I keep the psi lower than the bike required psi, this improves handling, more comfortable ride, tire grip, sidewall grip around the tight curves, plus the whole area of the tread wears even, you can spot a rookie bike by looking at his rear tire middle tread is worn out and sidewall tread is like new. Nobody makes a radial tire in my bikes size, so im stuck with bias ply, but lowering the air pressure will help it feel like a radial.

the pressures should be checked and set cold, ie. in the garge before you ride. After you ride or even setting in the son the pressures build up guite a bit.
But you guys knew this

Lower psi puts excessive heat into the tyre and chews up the rubber, slows the handling down and gives a lot less feel for the road in my experiences.
