Gas Miliage For CBR600F2....

Hey everyone! i bought a CBR600F2 a couple weeks ago, everything is going awsome and i love ridding, but i came across a problem. The thing has no fuel gauge. Does anyone know roughly the miliage for a F2. Any help would be AWSOME! I just dont want to run out of gas AGAIN. lol, pretty embarasing. Thanks everyone!

doesnt it have a reserve setting on the petcock?
Not sure if newer bikes and that, since i've never owned anything newer then 1986

ya i heard that there was a formula to figure it out, i could just never find it. If anyone knows it could they maybe post it. It sure would help things along. thanks again guys!

ok, here goes:
take the miles you've driven (you have an odometer right?) and divide that by how much gas you've used.
Just write the numbers on your odometer down when you go get gas and take note how much gas you put in.
This is not rocket science man!
But you didnt answer, do you have a fuel petcock? The reserve tank is really handy for helping you not run out of gas...

Ya she does have a fuel petcock, but the first time that i took it out and really wasnt quit sure which was the normal tank, and which was reserve so i ended up running the reserve right out. Can't be good for the bike but that's why you learn from your mistakes. And i just wasnt sure on the formula, i am only 18 and really havnt been driving for that long. lol. well thanks for the help, i guess that's really all i need to now.

I dont think dividing two numbers qualifies as a 'formula'! I was a little head-scratching too when I first got my bike and saw it had no gas gauge. But after calculating it a few times, figuring out how many miles I could go on a tank and using the ol' tripometer as my 'gas gauge' life is good again.

it also doesnt hurt to say, look in the tank, and see how much gas is left.

Doesnt work for me. Mine has a plastic barrier just below the opening, so unless its full I cant see the gas.

Well, now that you know which is the reserve setting, there shouldn't be a problem. Run on the regular setting and when it runs dry, switch to reserve and head for a gas station.
Keeping track of the numbers is fine, but you're going to have varying mpg numbers depending on how you're riding.
