Another ridiculous lawsuit...
http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/04/29/spank ... index.html
Sum: Woman involved in 'training' exercise is spanked by fellow employees, along with the other employees as well. Its supposed to be a fun team-building exercise, but obviously the woman disagreed. Rather than stand up for herself and refuse at the time, like an adult should, she lets it happen and then hires a lawyer.
And gets over a million dollars. Also, the article mentions she sued a previous employer for harassment. Anyone seeing a pattern?
So she used the legal system to cash out on what should have been a 'fire the supervisor for his lack of judgement' incident, assuming this woman has the mind of a 10 year old and is unable to refuse to stand on a stage and allow other people to hit her with a paddle. Really, how can we expect people to be responsible for themselves when lawyers make it so much easier to get rich by acting like a child?
Anyway, who on earth would ever hire this woman again? She'd better use that money wisely, because I for one wouldnt let her set foot in my business.

"Jurors awarded Orlando $10,000 for economic loss, $40,000 for future medical costs and $450,000 for emotional distress, pain and suffering. They awarded her an additional $1.2 million in punitive damages."
Are you kidding me? $40,000 for future medical costs? What a joke. She must have a boney "O Ring".

Its probably to cover future medical expenses should she trip over her own shoelaces, or should someone on the street tell her to jump into traffic to which she would be unable to refuse, owing to her debilitating stupidity.

I don't think spanking employees is right or professional, but you're absolutely right, she could have simply said no.

Just the facts peeps ;
She only gets $800,000 out of the total sum .
You must also take into account that this lady is in her 50s and it is really hard to get a job here in Fresno once you are over 30 . Let alone older than that .
The alarm company that she worked for really had no business indulging in any dodo like that to begin with .
I could go out to the bus and get my local paper , but nah , I be too tired .
Best regards, Wizzard
