The Government has crossed the line now.

It takes a lot to get me to actually hit the streets and preach, but I'm unbelievebly pissed about this. I have been following this company for a long time!

Over the past few years, our friends at United Nuclear have been developing systems to convert cars to run on hydrogen, as well as provide the hydrogen generator so you can fuel it yourself. They are in the final stages of testing (just testing the durability of the car's engine when running solely on hydrogen). So here they are, almost ready to put this product on the market, and BOOM! Raided by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission). The kick is, they are using completely legal materials, not even hazardous materials (which can still be legal).

Here is the excerpt from www.switch2hydrogen.com (United Nuclear's website for this product):
April 27th:
Instead of moving forward with our research, 100% of our time and money is now being spent on fighting a legal battle with the U.S. Government.
Some time ago, the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) recruited the SWAT team and other Government agencies to raid our facility confiscating all papers, plans and computers.
They are attempting to block all sales and use of the chemicals used in our Hydrogen storage system.
The materials in question are common Oxidizers and have never been illegal to own or purchase and are not even classified as hazardous materials.
They are also attempting to block all sales and ownership of oxidizer chemicals, and a wide variety of other substances that will actually make it illegal to own a chemistry set. Our scientific supply page has additional information on how the CPSC actions will relate to home experimenters & science hobbyists

WTF, indeed!
Now, we have the chairman of CPSC, who was appointed by George W. Bush... I wonder if this "O Ring" owns oil stocks too.
Please email him and tell him how furious you are about this violation of our rights.

Also, check out the other chair members at the CPSC:

Here we are on the forefront of an alternative technology to burning gasoline in our cars, and they raid the company, steal their computers, plans, and papers!! This is bullshit. Please tell your friends.

Here is when the CPSC is trying to ban. It won't even allow a chemistry set to be bought or owned! Please visit this URL

Unbeleivable, but honestly not that surprising. Is this hydrogen system tested by unbiased sources to ensure it really works and is not a hoax?

Anyway, I'm not surprised the government doesnt want it to go forward. This company would take away billions from oil companies, much of which goes directly to Uncle Sam in the form of taxes. It would create a huge loss of revenue for the government.

The govt doesnt want solar powered cars or hydrogen brewed at home. If we have to switch to hydrogen, its going to be because we run out of fuel or hydrogen becomes cheaper to produce than gasoline, but it will be sold to the public by the same companies that give your gas now, and for roughly the same price...or at least at a price that brings in more profits.

If it is a hoax, it is one that has been going on for the past 3 years that I have been following it, I hope the joke isn't on me ;)

From what I have seen, it seems to be legit. I don't see why it would be a hoax either, it is all scientifically accurate. I've made a small hydrogen generator before, and it burns just like gasoline (just a bit hotter).

Also, it shouldnt matter what the government WANTs to go forward. We should have the freedom to use new technologies as long as they are safe for the public. I'm tempted to whip up a system myself just to give a big F U to "uncle sam".

I'm tempted to join a bunch of other forums just so I can copy this. Although I think thats considered spam.

Ok. To power a hydrogen car, you need a hydrogen generator thing, that I guess you would stick in your garage. Now, the hydrogen generator would run off the electricity in your house. Where do you think that electricity comes from? Most of the time, gas powered generators.

It also says you can use solar panels, which by the look of them (5 min) would fit nicely on the roof of your house.

I decided to research this topic a bit deeper. Look over these little tidbits here.

Find the line on this page that says United Nuclear -

And have a read on the founder of United Nuclear -

Yeah, I saw that stuff about the creator for the first time today, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a real store/business, and the product seems to be real.

Bob Lazar is potentially a nut, but crazier people have invented cool things before. I am concerned less with him, and more about the CPSC limited what I have access to as a private citizen in the scientific community.

Bob Lazar is a total off the wall kook..Plus that was from a wikipedia site. Anyone can go in a edit anything in there...so a lot of it is BS because someone with a bone to pick will go in and change the facts.
Anyway the whole thing with CPSC coming in sounds like a move by the oil companies to slow or stop research into alternative fuels...keep in mind, if it don't run on something made from crude oil, like gas or karosene, the oil companies won'take their bizillion dollars a day. They'll do anything to stop alternative fuels from making a go of it.

I'm not taking side, nor do I plan to research this further, so I have a few questions for those who would know. United Nuclear appears to be a science and chemical dealer. Wouldn't they normally come under high scrutiny for selling items over the Internet? You know all the good things about his hydrogen generator, but what of its dangers or what of the byproducts it produces that could be used for dangerous purposes? Like I said, I don't know, but can you use hydorgen for a dangerous purpose.

Like I said, I'm not on the government or crazy guys side on this, but I just wondered after reading a bunch of stuff, isn't this the kind of company that has to be monitored a lot for public safety anyway? If I'm off base, I understand. I did not do the full review of everything related to this case.
