Tried selling a bike on craigslist. Got too many no shows.
Put it on ebay, had lots of people come check it out then the last day there was a price war like crazy and it goes for 1,200. $200 deposit shows up instantly. Guy was hard to get in touch with, phone tag for awhile. Then he shows up and tries to talk me down in price... So a guy who didn't show up to see the bike, bid over the top of the people who did come out and were very interested... and he doesn't want to pay the price he bid.... I hate people.
So what do I do now? I can't get in touch with him, I have his $200 and I want this bike gone now.

Keep his 200, report him to ebay as a non-payer, relist it.

I'm pretty sure that if he won the auction that he is legally bound to pay the amount that won him the auction. Contact e-bay as soon as possible and file a complaint . If he never pays, you keep the 200, leave him negative feedback and sell the bike again.
Sorry that you have had so much trouble, keep trying.

Man I'm really sorry to hear that. It sounds incredibly frustrating, and having to go through the E-Bay complaints is just as aggravating. Good luck trying to sell the bike, hopefully the second time around things will go a lot smoother.

+1. Here in LA there was a case in small claims court about ebay. Seller spent a ton of money on the listing, front page, and crap. High bidder didnt pay, cost the dude a lot of money, so he sued him. I hate no shows. . .

LoL, I would like people like that guy. If everyone gave you a $200 deposit and never payed for the rest, you would get a lot of money. I bet it is a pain though, but just put it back on e-bay. You already tried to contact the guy numerous times, according to you, so you have done your part.

I'd keep the 200 incase homeboy shows up or something. E-mail him or leave a message saying what you will do if he no shows. Contact e-bay. If nothing happens, move so he doesn't know where you live, and i'll "Hide" the bike for you....
Seriously, keep the money untouched for now, let him know SOMEHOW what you want to do or go to complain to eBay.
