I haven't done it yet but it's something I'm thinking about doing. I don't have a GPS now so I am looking at some different units from Garmin and TomTom. There are a number of different options out there for mounting the Garmin branded units to your bike.

yea thats the thing, I need a way to mount my Megellan unit to the bike. Its really a great unit as it has maps for the entire country built in, talks to you, maps routes, maps alternate routes if you hit traffic, etc etc. I use it all the time in my Cherokee, just type in the address and go.keysman wrote:There are a number of different options out there for mounting the Garmin branded units to your bike.
I'd love to mount it to my fj for an upcoming trip to north carolina, although I am worried about it being exposed to the elements and whatnot. It wasnt cheap.

Yup - a StreetPilot 7270. I adapted a Magellan mount to hold it to my bike.-Holiday wrote:Has anyone adapted a Car gps to fit on your bike?

If the GPS has a speaker on it it's not going to be waterproof FYI. I'm looking at the Tomtom Rider or the Lowrance iWay500c (Which also has 10gb of HD space for music... )
I'll let you know what i decide
