Hello everyone. First of all, I'd like to share my new-found passion by saying that I'm very excited to share the roads with the motorcycle community. I've been riding since Sept. 04 and it has been a very safe and gratifying experience. I plan to buy a brand new 600 in the next 2 weeks but I can't decide which bike is best suited for me. I'm not a "crazy" rider. I just like to cruise on sportsbikes. I'm currently looking at the Kwak 6R and the CBR600rr. Both look great but I've heard and read that the former's instruments are very difficult to read therefore, undermining the whole riding experience. Additionally, I also found out that the latter's brakes are weak, which obviously is not a good thing to have. I don't know, maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid, but these are the questions that are swirling around this newbs' mind. Anyway, if I can get some insights from anyone I'd really appreciate it.

hello keysman. yes, i have been riding for 6-7 months. unfortunately, it's not on a consistent basis. i used my cousin's '03 R6 and accumulated a little less than 2K miles. however, he recently sold it in order to purchase the '05 iteration. understandably, he courteously won't let me use his new bike anymore. like i stated before, i'm a new rider but i'm fairly confident that my street and highway riding aren't that bad. i also understand that potential danger can originate not only from myself, but from the surrounding vehicles around me. i know, i know this doesn't say anything at all about my riding skills.
anyway, the one thing that's really eating me up right now is the low velocity, narrow u-turns. i'm still having some slight troubles negotiating those tight u-turns. implementing and mastering the counter-balance technique is proving to be quite elusive. anyway, i'm sorry if i slightly veered off topic here but this is why i'm thinking about buying either the 6r or the cbr600rr. unless i get my own, i won't be able to ride/practice anymore. i don't really want to buy a used bike either.

p.s. i don't suppose purchasing the mighty all-new R1 instead is considered rational decision-making?
