Question about MSF?

When exactly should I take it? Do I take it after I get my learners permit or before? Do I have to bring my own bike? Do they provide a bike, etc.? I'm wondering because I want to buy a bike but I don't know how to ride. You can't really learn how to ride a bike unless you have one to ride with.
Sorry about the stupid questions. But I'm looking to buy a bike and I'm very new to all this.
Is the MSF newbie friendly? Especially for someone who knows nothing about motorcycles?

I'd recommend taking it as soon as possible. In many areas there's a long waiting list for classes, so you probably want to sign up ASAP.
They provide motorcycles for the BRC class. They start from the very basics, so even someone who has never been on a motorcycle shouldn't have a problem (assuming you know how to ride a bicycle.)

You have to have a learner's permit to take the course. Motorcycles are provided. You should be able to find all the information by clicking on the link in my signature.

Thanks for the site. That provided more than enough info for me.

Glad it helped! Going to reply to your first bike post as well. Just need to recall some info. You're already doing part of what I'll recommend. Not that I'm anywhere near an expert myself. Simply some things that I've learned from the elderly.... *errr* ....elders on this site and put together in a word doc for easy copy and pasting. Well, easy when I'm home where the info is. Just waiting for an email from my wife at this point.

You do in Ohio. Either a learners permit or already have your endorsement. I watched several people get turned away when they showed up without a learners permit. Lucky for me cause that opened up extra standby spaces so those of us that missed the signup day could get in.
Also, hope you don't live in a place that charges ridiculous amounts to take the course. Some states are $250 or $300! Highway robbery if you ask me. Here in Ohio it is $25 for it. Much more reasonable. But the course is really necessary either way.
Good luck with it all.
