I'm looking at getting a bike, ive ridden 750gsxrs and honda but im looking only at two bikes right now. The gsxr is a great deal and I can find parts more readily available, but I am 6'3" and want something that if i need to can make a day of riding without dying from it... i know the gsxrs are tight but are they ok still.

Hahaha, you're in for a surprise if you think you're going to be happy after riding around all day on that.

I've riden Dirt for years, but never went out and got myself a legal permit allowing me to ride on hte road. I have taken rides on friends bikes though, and after riding on the dirt I am not exactly ushering myself into something that i think is easy. I know of the dangers ive been around long enough. This will be my first street bike and im looking for real opinions. gsxr6 or zx6r maybe an f4 but i doubt it.

Take into account my height and the fact that i will spent time. Thanks

those are very powerful sport bikes. Years on dirt is good and will help ya ride but you should start on a less powerful bike as it will be much safer and a better choice.

Believe me i understand, I thank you for that advice, I have lived in a small town and had an old nighthawk that was used all the time, my only concern as far as the sportbike goes is the different riding position. I know the guys alwasy buy to bike and dont under estimate the 600cc's of today in the slightest, but like i said i really wanted any opinion on the newer 600's for a basis for confort.
Again i thank you and have found the forum insiteful while looking at it. I also want to take all the riding schools and classes that are offered in todays world of bikes, so that i can take advantage of my lack of storeet experience as much as is posible without having the time.
I am not looking to be the fastest i just found it time to ride and my 450 and 250 dirts have shown me power and injury i do not take this lightly.
Any info on ergonomics for a person of my height is much appreciated.

I have no idea about the comfort thing. I wouldn't buy a brand new bike at all for your first bike, because you will most likely drop it (it happens, losing your balance, forgetting to put down the kickstand etc.). I'm not going to get into the whole "too powerful" thing, as it sounds like you're set on the 600s.

Like I said, these bikes are not meant to be comfortable, they are meant to be fast that is all. If you want a comfortable bike, I'd suggest looking at something in a standard, or possibly a cruiser, especially considering your size.

Im almost as tall as you and I dont have problems riding on modern crotch rockets. You have to be wary about how much of your weight is being put foward on your wrists. I think the F4i is probably the most comfortable true sportbike you can get. I also like the ZZR600, which is basically a 2002 ZX-6R, its has pretty decent ergos.

You can always raise the handlebars later and put on different rear sets that will match your riding preferences.

I'm 6'3 and I gotta 03 Yami R6 and have ridden for about three hours straight and had no real discomfort when I got off to stretch. I sat on Suzuki and Honda and noticed no real difference. The stance is all the same. After a week of good riding your body should become used to the bike and the stance.
