I've never owned a motorcycle before. I want to take really good care of it and keep it looking good. Can a person really expect a bike to stay as clean as when it's brand new?
My friend says that we should keep our bikes as clean as when they were brand new. She also says we should never use soap and water, just spray cleaners and rags. I'm not talking about high power spray washers either. I want my bike to be pretty and healthy but I can't see spending 8 hours cleaning it.
Please tell me what's the best way to clean a motorcycle and can you recommend some good cleaning supplies?
While I'm on the subject, what does the average biker do? Do most people give their bike a bath after every ride? or once a week or month?
My friend says our bikes need a bath after every ride. I don't think so!
And besides, when I do give it a bath, it's before a ride not after. Who wants to park a shiney bike? I'd rather take it out while it's pretty. What does everyone else do?

As a busy college student, I see splattered bugs as badges of honor. I usually only clean up my chromed exhaust once it's really dirty and there isn't rain forecasted within the next week. Other than that, my bike usually stays pretty dirty.
