Getting my bike back tomorrow

So the mechanic called today, and said he had fixed my bike. New front fender, mirrors, signals, clutch lever and pod, tires, and JB welded the tank to fix the leak. But I still need to find a tank, because the JB weld may not hold. Which reminds me, if anyone happens to notice an '82 nighthawk 450 gas tank, let me know, because I can't find one.
Anyway, so I'm going to pick it up around 4 tomorrow, then I get to start riding again!

Does anyone know if an '84 nighthawk 650 tank would fit an '82 nighthawk 450? From what I can see, it looks like it would fit, but I don't want to buy it (off ebay) and it not fit.

Or an '81 CX500? It looks very similar.

ask the seller for the deminsions of it and then compare that to your tank and see if it would fit, i would wager the way its attached is similar enough to work, just size has to match.

that tank looks an awful lot like the tank on my CX500 custom.
does your tank mount at the front with 2 bolts to the frame?

Yep, front has a bolt on each side for the frame, back has one bolt in the center that goes down into the frame (you can see it if you take the seat off).

Got my bike back today, and everything is running, and working fine.
But, I was scared as hell riding it home, nervous that every car was going to pull out in front of me. And what "procreating" idiot cager woman did. I was riding (again nervous as hell) home from the shop, and this lady was waiting to turn right onto the road I was on. I was watching her closely, and noticed took half a glance to her left (at me) and started pulling out, I was anticipating this, and had my hand on the brake, so I slammed on the brakes, tires squelling, and I guess she heard this, so she slammed on her brakes before she went out in the road, and gave me the whole "why do you look so mad?" look. I was pissed, flipped her off (which in retrospect wasn't such a good idea), and kept going. I think she was on her cell phone.
Honestly it makes me mad, but I hope she learned from it and will look a little better before she pulls out next time.
Anyone, so that didn't help in making me less nervous. Stupid cagers.

The CX (and quite a lot of other bikes including the old Honda CB series) mount like that, but it isnt a bad idea to measure up the distance between mountings.

While the finger may have been appropriate if she was on a cell phone, there is one crucial piece of safety equipment on your bike you may have forgotten about. Don't be afraid to use that horn.
If your horn is wimpy (most Honda horns are), I recommend a pair of these:

One low and one high-tone FIAMM freeway blaster will make your bike sound like a 76 Cadillac. A breeze to install, and well worth the $25 or so.
