I have a 2004 honda cbr 1000. I was having a noise problem which sounded like it was coming from behind the stator cover where the clutch is but it sounded like a rattling chain. I took it to the dealer to get checked for cam chain noise because i heard from people that cbr have a problem with cam chains. So the dealer told me it was valve lash and that doing a valve adjustment would cure the problem(of course valve adjustment is not covered under warranty, yet my cam chain would be) So anyways i went and picked up my bike and the noise was still there. Now at this point of time now they say the noise is normal. so my question is why did they tell me a valve adjustment would fix a noise problem that the now say is normal

How many miles are on it? They get valve adjustments every 16k miles. The CBR600's are notorious for having cam chain tensioners replaced. Have not done one on the 1000's, not as common of a bike.
Some valve train noise is common. When did you notice the noise?
