I have a little experience on a bike, so I am not completely new to this, but have never riden a true sportbike. I am saving up some money to buy a bike in the near future. So, my options that I am looking at are either a Kawi 500R Ninja, or a Honda GS500F. I have always liked the Kawi's but would go with the GS500 if it were better. If you all could give me some help with this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks Much! Oh, and if you all think that there would be a better bike out there for a semi-newbie please feel free to let me know, and yes I am looking for a used bike, so if anyone is looking to sell, i'm looking to buy =). Be Blessed!

Define "a little experience."

Remember, as Indiana Jones said, "It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage."

A well-trained rider with 2 years of experience and 24,000 miles under his belt is likely a better rider than a self-taught person who has ridden for 10 years and done 10,000 miles.

That being said, a Ninja 500 and a Suzuki GS500F (it's not made by Honda, it's a Suzuki) are both good bikes for beginners so, no matter what your experience-level is, you should be fine on those.

If you want a lot more of my opinion on beginners and good bikes (not that you asked, but I like to pimp my website) go look here:

By "a little experiance" I mean have riden dirt bikes and want to move on to a sport bike that is not too powerful. I also would like to know if anyone knows of a good MSF course in the Tampa, FL area. I have talked to a couple of people who said that out of the three, they would go with the sv650. I like the way it looks, but I know that looks aren't everything. As I said before, I have been a kawi fan for a while. So I tend to lean toward the kawi 500

hehe the sv650s has more than just looks, you should really sit on the bikes before deciding what you want. The Kawi Ninjas just got a 650 as well so you may wanna take a look at that. Although its new to this year.
