Regular readers may have noticed that Jules and I have a small problem with vanadlism of vehicles outside the house.

The latest to annoy me (actually the latest event was Jules wing mirror getting broken which led to a scrapyard adventure followed by a couple of hours taking the units apart and rebuilding one to match the car)

Anyway the latest to annoy me is one of the rat bar-stewards has taken to disconnecting the fuel line and draining off the petrol.

I'd like to say at this juncture that the CX is damned heavy and the only way to shift it is to pull it, attempting to push it leads to running over your own foot.

So I am annoyed. However Jules has banned me from draining the tank and replacing the petrol with whitespirit so my question tonight is:

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can protect my petrol tap from this piracy?

Use hose clamps with uncommon hardware maybe? Like torx, or snake-eyes?

Police should be able to get some kind of fingerprint off of your tank.

If they can't, clean the tap and tank thoroughly and wait for it to happen again.

Zoo's idea is a good one also - but it might lead to them cutting your lines. I guess the best way to protect your petrol is to drain it into a container every night and lock it up somewhere.

Do they have to put their hands into any kind of cramped space to get to your fuel line?

if so, find an old rusty utility knife. the kind with the snap off blade. glue these around the opening. sharp side facing in. coat with something erm....Organic..... then just call the cops when the screaming starts.

I really dislike people who A. mess with my stuff. B.shitball theives. It should be perfectly acceptable and legal to kneecap anyone who steals your stuff.

You live in England where the laws protect the criminals.

Ummm, maybe hire this guy Image to guard it! lol Other than that, talk the wife into draining the gas and putting in ethyl alcohol... If nothing else, it'd be hilarious to watch the guy fly off the bike at the engine seized up at speed...
