I was wondering how many people here have seen/used a radar detector for motorcycles, they make some wireless but some connect to your motorcyel, so has anyone here used them? Ever saved you?

My dad has a Valentine One set up on his BMW on a little thing that sticks out so you can attach add-ons like radar detectors or a GPS or satillite radio receiver. I dunno how well it works though.

I ran a radar detector on my bike on a custom dash mount till the vibrations (or age, not sure which) killed it.
A radar detector on a bike works exactly the same as a radar detector in a car; in fact, the one I used on my bike I used in my car during the winter. I had the normal plug in the car, and a rewired plug hooked into some unused power leads on the bike.
Has it saved me?
No clue. I haven't had a speeding ticket while using it, but then I rarely do supra-legal speeds on my bike anyway.

I had a very expensive built in unit WAY back on my '93 Ninja. The thing went off so often that I seemed to ride alot slower in the end. Mission accomplished I suppose....
