I'll be taking it Memorial Day weekend. The excitement is killing me already, I don't know how I'm going to make it through another week of work!

remember to get some sleep between now and then, tired riders make mistakes

You're lucky. I had to wait six weeks for my class.

it is a lot of fun. just dont be nervous about riding. if you feel confident, you'll do great and have lots of fun. and worst case- you drop a bike- they pay to have it fixed. (way better than dropping your own bike)

I'm really looking forward to it because it'll be the first time I've actually ridden a motorcycle. I've sat on them in dealerships for hours it seems like, but never ridden one. I really hope they have an EX250 to ride.

I too am taking the MSF class Memorial day weekend. I'm soo excited...been spending hours lately researching bikes and gathering comments regarding 1st time bikes. I thought I had to wait til July 1st to take the class, but looked around, and found another one offered just 30 miles from me...I'm stoked, and can't wait. I also already made my appointment with the DMV the next opening morning (which is Tuesday after Memorial day) to obtain my license. I'm hoping to purchase a bike Sunday after class so I can schedule delivery.
After sitting on several bikes early this week, I've narrowed my long list of bikes down to:
Ninja 500R
Yamaha V-Star 650
Honda Shadow VLX 650
I'm also considering the Ninja 250R...but it all boils down to what I feel comfortable with during the class as I know they will offer the Ninja 250R. If I feel very (or too) comfortable with it, I'll step up to the 500R. I'm going to also ask them if they'll allow me to try riding something simlar to the Yamaha V-Star...I think the only closest thing they have for that is the Honda Nighthawk...not sure.
