So my step-dad just bought an '82 Yamaha Maxim 1100, with 13k miles, for $2300. It's a really nice bike, extremely clean and well maintained, good paint. I'll post a pic when we get it to the house (I think I get to ride it home from the shop!).
After I got my bike he decided he wanted to start riding again, and found this bike at the shop I took my bike to after my accident. Now I'm looking forward to go cruising in the mountains, sweet.

So, he actually paid for the bike today, and we went to pick it up from the shop, and because he had to drive his truck back to the house, I got to ride the bike home from the shop. That thing was sweet, smoot, smooth, smooth. And powerful, I barely moved the throttle, I was going 55mph, and it felt the same as 15mph on my bike. Anyway, so I got it home, and my step-dad took it out around the neighborhood to get used to it, than we rode together (him on the Maxim, me on the Nighthawk) up to a different motorcycle shop, because I needed a new front tire, and they had one in stock.
After we left the shop, I went straight from there and made the hour ride over to my dad's house, because I'm there visiting him this weekend. Fun, riding is FUN.

What mountains you heading to and when? If'n you can wait long enough and you head up towards NC maybe we could get together and ride (and by wait long enough I mean towards the end of summer

).

We'll probably be up there alot over the summer and fall. We'll probably go up to tennessee and north carolina alot, like in the smokey mountains. We'll most likely spend alot of time around Gatlinberg and Pigeon Forge, because both my parents like that stuff, I'm just looking forward to the twisty mountain roads. But yeah, PM me if you ever have an open schedule or something, we'll try to arrange something.

My girlfriend's dad vacations in one spot and that's Pigeon Forge. I get a kick out of you mentioning it, never heard anyone other than her family speak of it.

It's a pretty popular tourist place, I think it's tacky, but it seems like alot of people like it, and it's very popular with bikers.
