Whats the law
Ok I have the msf course scedualed for the 10 of june but own a insured and reg. bike. my question is how do people practice for the DMV test normally because I dont think you allowed to ride without a licence. Is it possible for me to practice in a huge parking lot behind my house legaly. Thanks.

Check your local laws. In Virginia, if you have a motorcycle permit you are allowed to ride a motorcycle as long as you are with another licensed person on their own motorcycle. There are some restrictions: The person with a permit, cannot have a passenger, cannot ride after dusk and cannot travel highways.
Get your permit and find a licensed buddy to ride with.

In Ohio, you have to get "temps" aka learners permit. You need these or a motorcycle endorsement on your license to take the MSF class.
Here the restrictions on your temps are: no interstate riding, no riding after dark, and you have to wear a helmet. Other than those, you are free to ride as you may.

A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

Yeah I didn't need one in VA either. Hell the permit test was only 20 questions in VA. I could have done them in my sleep and personally I don't think it equipped me to ride a motorcycle on surface streets. The BRC really taught me much more and quicker than if I just got on the roads with a bike.sleepercivic88 wrote:When I signed up for th msf course it never sayed anything about a permit; It only asked for a valid drivers licence. I live in CO.

I found my own answer. I guess you dont need the permit before the msf but you need a permit to ride on the streets before the class.

yeah michigan is that way. you dont need a permit for the MSF course and as soon as you pass it all you have to do is go take the written test and get your endorsement. eliminates the need for a permit lol
