When riding I will occationally (at least once a ride when at higher speeds) i will hear a high pitch whirring noise from my speedometer, looking down I will see it sais I am doing about 160 KM/h, which I doubt. it will be very jumpy looking, going from 140-160 back and forth, when I ease of the throtle it will stop making the noise and the speedometer will go back to regular/real speed. I had to put on a new cable last year when I put the bike back togther...any suggestions as to whats causeing it? Its not really something that needs fixing, but if its simple, I'll do it.

Try lubing it with Cable Lube, WD-40, Multi-Purpose Lube, etc., etc.,

Really - wow - you're a better man than I am - I would have been all over that.

I do have a disturbing amount of multi purpose lube and what not in my shed..... the things you get into when you have an old bike...with rusty bits....
