Hey from Wyoming!

#1 Unread post by KurtBlewByU2 »

I'm a newbie...wandered across your forum and it looks like fun! My name's Amanda...just took the MSF course this past weekend and it was a blast. I got a 49CC scooter when I was 13 and had that for a few years before we moved, and got bitten by the bug to ride again. Talked my mom and dad into going too, and my mom, shocker of all shockers LOL, loved it!! She's been looking at bikes everywhere since we came home. Anyways, just wanted to say hey to everyone...going to have some questions about the best first bike to get

First of all.....
:welcome:

Second, Have you checked out the Beginner's Guide? There are also stickies and the Learn To Ride A Motorcycle page which is now downloadable in PDF format (Created and maintained by Dragonhawk).

Third, Go to a variety of dealers and sit on all kinds of different motorcycles. Even if you don’t think you’d like the ride when you look at it. I was dead set on one riding style when I started and ended up buying a different type. You may surprise yourself as well.

Fourth, Good Luck and Have Fun! I hope you enjoy this site! Be sure to...:spreadtheword:

Thanks guys! To be honest, I've got plans for a Buell Blast, although I'm seeing about 50/50 opinions on their quality. I've been on one at the dealership and love it. My dad wants to get my mom a little Rebel 250 and thinks thats what I need too....but honestly the one I rode at the MSF course felt too low...dunno why because I'm only 5'2, but it still felt too little. Also looking at a Seca. Any opinions?

I own an 83 Seca 400, and Im sure that if you get one in good shape you'll enjoy it. Mines a tad rough around the edges, but its my first bike, and I havent felt over powered by it and it keeps up in traffic.
