I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

I recently bought a 1972 Honda CB100 starter bike. I've got it running and it sounds great, but it will not idle without constant throttle, even though the choke is open. Is there a way to adjust the idle on this bike? If not, what is the most likely cause?

You probably need a carb cleaning to flush out the idle circuit. The idle jet is pressed into the carb body so it can't be removed separately, but you can still clean it out with carb cleaner.

I believe there is also an air screw and an idle adjustment. A Clymer's manual is your best bet.

These bike engines are near bullet proof as long as you keep the oil topped up and changed every 2,000km/1,000 mi so keep at it and you'll get her running very smoothly. The CB100 engine is sold throughout the world and is one of Honda's most widely sold engines.
