well lads whats ur call on rossi parking his bike into the last corner and helping sete into the kitty litter?
im a rossi fan and love him winning but cant help thinking it was a bit tough on sete who rode a great race with good pace, ok we expect hard racing but u know this opens it up 4 more of the same so wots ur views#46 was the winner 2day and always gunna try anythink 2 win...

they were both gong all out to win,sombody had to come second.sete rode a fantastic race .its a pity one of them had to come second but i dont think anybodys at fault,if it had been the other way round im sure sete would have gone in just as hard.of course hes going to feel bitter,who wouldnt?well done rossi,lets have some more........xjrjhn

rossi has the little bit extra 2 win a race but do u get the feeling hes stil riding harder than sete? i think if rossi was on any honda hes gunna walk it with the feel easy riding of the honda.. roll on estoril next week 4 sum more fun.

damn! er, darn. I didnt see the race today... ended up doing a ton of things this morning, and was getting too late to hook up with the boys and watch it! the weather was sooo warm here that i decided to stay outside and enjoy.

oh well. it's only race one... sounds like lurcherboy, you're saying Rossi did the classic "park it" that motocrossers commonly do, but on roadracing circuits at higher speeds this has generally been frowned upon in the past.

Duhamel was accused of doing it to Maladin previously, and in the 90s GPs, Wayne Gardner has pulled it on Lawson a couple times... and in the mid-80s Spencer pulled a nasty one on Roberts many years ago, to WIN a championship... final corner, final race. Roberts has said a few times, that for the championship, if he were in Spencer's shoes many years ago, he would have done the same thing... his younger son, Kurtis Roberts, has been accused of some dirty tactics in the past, even with team-mates...

If the boys are starting the season like this, it will be a season of wicked action

'tis not alot different than Tamada a couple of years ago where he was disqualified. My personal view was that is was a punt-him-to get by him manouver, nothing accidental about it and it really opens a door for more of the same in the series. I'm a Rossi fan, as is everyone, but even hero's can make questionable moves.....

More of a put it to then in Spain, kind of move. but this has open the door for more of the same to come. Im a rossi fan, but Im sure rossi would be singing a different tune if it where the other way around. If it had not been in Spain would he have done the same thing?

At least you had first pick in the pool I read somewhere on the internet that they were chanting "Son of a mean" at him after the race

Rossi expects Sete title tussle

Valentino Rossi anticipates a full-blooded 17-round title contest with Sete Gibernau this year after the Italian's controversial season-opening win at the Spanish GP on Sunday. The Yamaha rider made contact with Gibernau's bike on the final corner of the 27-lap race before taking the chequered flag.


The Italian said he thought that his overtaking manoeuvre, which forced Gibernau on to the trackside gravel, would anger his Honda rival and he was right.

However, the normally easy-going Gibernau, who has been runner-up behind Rossi for the last two years, refused to get into a war of words as he has done since the pair fell out last year.

"I will talk about anything except the last lap," a stone-faced Gibernau said, before adding: "There will be no appeal from me. I don't want such a great race to be reduced to what happened at the last corner.

"I love this sport and I don't want to get involved in politics."

Rossi, who has not spoken to Gibernau since an incident that resulted in him starting last year's Qatar Grand Prix from the back of the grid, was almost sympathetic.

"I know Sete is not happy but that's motorcycle racing. There are going to be 16 more races this year and there will be many more hard battles," he said.

"It was a great race, especially for us because this morning we had a problem and we crashed (in the warm-up).

"Fortunately, I had no pain and the team did very well to solve the problem and set the bike for this afternoon.

"The race was very, very hard, especially with Gibernau, who was very, very fast.

BATTLE BEGAN

"I tried to stay with him and it was not easy. Towards the end I tried to make my attack. I was then able to stay in front, but unfortunately in the middle of the last lap, I made a mistake in the braking and Gibernau overtook me.

"From that moment the battle began and it was very hard for sure because it was the last lap and we overtook several times.

"At the end I overtook him at the entry to the fast right and then he overtook me at the exit. I was fastest at the exit of (the penultimate corner) and at the moment of braking I was already at the middle of Sete's bike.

"He moved to close the line, but I had a small, small gap -- maybe half a metre -- to overtake and it was the only way."

Despite winning the first round on Gibernau's home soil, Rossi is under no illusions that claiming a fifth successive world title will be easy.

"It will be a great season because Gibernau's very fast and it's certainly going to be a hard battle," he said.

"Gibernau will be my biggest rival as he has been for the last two years. The other riders ... are not able to stay with us. It will not be easy but we'll do our best."

high side ur right on the tamada race a few years ago, dont think it was a great race as sum 1 said, there has been better but better races r 2 come im sure, who said would he have done it if it wasnt in spain????????????/

rossi did it twise on biaggi.. rossi ur the king and we love it
anwser this why did rossi park it inside sete and last year a few times? in my view the yam is not as fast as honda so its the brakes or lose.. only my opinion.. game on..
